1 Week Remaining...
In one week I will be bald. That sounds pretty shocking as I say it to myself, but I am so excited. I have been talking about this and waiting for the St. Baldrick's event for so long now, that I am thrilled it is almost here. Today my brother told me that he would go bald with me. He is wonderful and I adore him for his contribution to this cause that is so close to so many hearts. I am shaving my head to raise $ for kids with cancer (much more details at http://www.stbaldricks.org/). I get to give up something as insignificant as my hair, and will get to experience the tiniest glimpse of what thier everyday experience is like, and I get to help raise awareness for long after the event. I am thrilled to get to be a part of this, and doubly thrilled that my brother will be right next to me (I love you Clifford!!!). :) Counting the days... :)

I think this is a great thing, though, sadly, I don't know that I would ever have the guts to do it. On a side note, I once heard a story about a guy who decided to shave his head. He grabbed a Lady Bic and made a stroke right down the center of his head. Unfortunately, his head was not as even as a lady's leg, and he sliced a gash in his skin large enough to require an emergency room visit. Just wanted to pass along the warning. Hope all goes well and emergency-visit-lessly!
I also think it is great thing. I hope I would be brave enough you!
I don't know you personally, but I'm so proud of you. You are doing an amazing thing. Kudos to you - I pray all goes well.
